Rob Schneider Stars/Directs Spanish Comedy AMOR ES AMOR

Infinity HillEl Estudio and Infinity Hill team up to produce comedy feature “AMOR ES AMOR,” Rob Schneider’s debut as actor and director in a Spanish-language film.

AMOR ES AMOR follows Enrique Juarez, an up-and-coming Mexican Telenovela actor on the verge of becoming a leading man, who has to hide his true self to achieve stardom.  That includes creating a fake relationship with former pop sensation, Sofia. The mastermind behind the whole scheme is TV network head Julian Rodin (Rob Schneider), who is secretly having an affair with Sofia.

Writer-director-actor Rob Schneider is known worldwide for his comedy hits THE HOT CHICK, THE ANIMAL, DEUCE BIGALOW – AMERICAN GIGOLO and its sequel, DEUCE BIGALOW: EUROPEAN GIGOLO. He starred, directed, and produced two seasons of the comedy series REAL ROB for Netflix, with a third season in development. He also can be seen in SANDY WEXLER, ADAM SANDLER: 100% FRESH, THE RIDICULOUS 6, GROWN UPS, BEDTIME STORIES, YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN, I NOW PRONOUNCE YOU CHUCK & LARRY, LITTLE MAN, CLICK, THE LONGEST YARD, AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS, 50 FIRST DATES, MR. DEEDS and BIG DADDY, among many others, and in TV shows like SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, SEINFELD, ROB, and ALLY MCBEAL.  He also wrote THE ANIMAL, THE CHOSEN ONE, the DEUCE BIGALOW films, and was a writer in SNL.

“I’m really proud to announce AMOR ES AMOR,” said Schneider, “a funny and warm rom-com, to be made entirely in Spanish by my dear friends from El Estudio and Infinity Hill. Mexico is basically my second home, where I met my wife and where some of my favorite movies in the world were made, so directing and starring in a Latin American film is both a joy, a pleasure and kind of natural for me.”

AMOR ES AMOR is written by Schneider and Patricia Maya Schneider, who also penned REAL ROB, and is produced by Diego Suarez Chialvo, Pablo Cruz and Enrique López Lavigne for El Estudio and Axel Kuschevatzky, Phin Glynn and Cindy Teperman for Infinity Hill.
